Contribute to JOLIE

Table of contents

You can contribute to the JOLIE project in many ways, from writing code and/or documentation to discussing in our communication channels, such as IRC or the Mailing List.

Jobs List

A good way to start if you don't know what to do is to read the jobs list.

How to communicate with us

Communicating with the JOLIE team is crucial if you need advice/help or want your code included in the project.

Mailing List

The main and preferred way to discuss is the development mailing list:

jolie-devel@lists.sourceforge.net

You can register to it by using this page (external link).

IRC channel

JOLIE has an IRC channel on freenode.net, too. Just go on #jolie. Remember anyway that the mailing list is the best place for being sure to get help or discuss.

Writing code

There are three ways for making a code contribution to JOLIE:
  • developing code for the interpreter;
  • developing code for a JOLIE extension (protocols, technology bridges, communication mediums...);
  • developing a JOLIE program useful to be used as a generic library or to integrate with other applications.

Get your code into the svn repository

To get your code in the svn repository you need to submit your patches to the mailing list for revision. Developers that become active can receive an svn account under acceptance of the maintainer.
